We Are
Once upon a Time

For anyone who hasn't gotten both their feet on a longboard, took their chances with traffic and just let loose down the hill, i'm telling you, you're missing out. I don't know why i decided to start this post off like that, maybe it's because i'm missing the wonderful thrill i get, when going down the hill, fully aware that if worst came to worst, and i needed to stop, i wouldn't be able to. Most people would find that terrifying, most people want control of every aspect of their lives, i for one, don't. I like that i can take my board and just go. Sure i've fallen one to many times, ran over my ipod headphones, gotten my pant leg stuck in the wheel and countless other misfortunes, but i still love everything about it. I'm telling you, if you don't already have one, run to go buy one asap (see if you had one, there'd be no need for running, you can just cruise)

I remember when i first got mine, thanks friends by the way for making my dream of having a longboard come true, love you all. But that day, it changed a lot of who i was, maybe no one but myself noticed but it did change. I started hanging out outside so much more often and realized my love of just being outside, not even having to do anything in particular, just sitting out and watching the rest of the neighbourhood passing by.

It's become quite the hobby of mine, that of watching people, and getting to know them from a distance. Most would find this a little creepy, and weird, but i guess it's just who i am and i'm okay with it. I could tell you stories about almost anyone within 6 houses on either side and infront of my house. Some times i'll see things and just start quite litterally rofling.

Like this one time for example, this man that lives across the street got in his car, drove over to the mailbox, got his mail and walked home. And i'm sitting there thinking, like um excuse me, you forgot your car? Of all things how do you forget your car~?! But not only that, he then proceded to go back inside, get dressed in a snazzy suit and came outside and walked to his car, still stationed by the mailbox around the corner, and drove it back into his garage.
Throughout all of this i was just sitting there wondering, what the hell was going on in this guy's mind?! i just couldn't comprehend!!!

But that's what i like about the whole people watching idea. You have absolutly no idea what they're thinking, and you just sit back and let their lives unfold before you.

Maybe it's my love of film that makes me so intrigued by the actions of others. sitting out on the lawn watching everyone live their lives, is very closely related to sitting on the couch watching a movie. But where the movie is usually predictable, the lives of the real people before me are anything but.

So now, in this snow storm, i sit here, indoors, writing. Because i can't longboard in the snow, nor can i sit outside because of the cold and lack thereof people outside in this godforsaken weather.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed the story of the man who forgot his car.
Love always,
Haya
